Hello!
My name is Adam Michael Barkley. I am currently going to Utah State University, pursuing a degree in Public Relations, and have yet to pick a minor. I don't really fit well into the category of sophomore or junior or the like. Instead it would just be easier to say I have attended USU for about 5 years, and have about 2 left, maybe 3.
It is the rare day when I am seen not wearing my combat infantry boots, or some sort of baseball cap. In fact, most people compare the way I look to that of a lumberjack. Im just thankful I have a look, even though it doesn't always apply. My favorite color is orange, so a good half of my shirts are orange as well. When I'm not busy studying for media smarts, I enjoy a number of varied activities. First and foremost, I am a geek. Dungeons and Dragons, Firefly, Warhammer 40k, Dr. Who, computer and video games of all kinds; regardless of what it is, if its considered geeky, I probably have some experience with it. Believe it or not - most of my friends don't - I also enjoy some physical activities. I like rock climbing, racquetball, and swimming, among a few others. In fact as long as we follow a few simple rules, I like most sports. The rules are:
A) If its over 70 degrees, I hate being outside.
B) I have terrible allergies.
To sum up. I HATE SUMMER! It is my most dreaded of seasons, with very few redeeming qualities. You rarely find me outside during the summer, but once winter arrives... I LOVE WINTER! I love crisp mountain air, a cold breeze, really anything that occurs in winter. I have a body like a furnace, it takes sub freezing temperatures before I feel the need for a jacket. Needless to say, I love to go skiing, or snowshoeing. Winter is when I thrive.
I probably picked this up from my upbringing. I was raised in Bellevue, Washington, just east of Seattle. The temperature rarely gets above 80 degrees, and its frequently overcast and rainy.
Due to these factors, I became a bit of a technophile. I love technology, though this would be my first blog. I turn to the Internet for all my media and entertainment usage. Whether my music through Pandora, or my movies through netflix, or my games through steam, I use the Internet prodigiously.
